When my son gets the camera...

Fourth of July

We didn't have set plans for the 4th of July so we decided to go to my best friend's sister's house to watch a local parade. She lives right on the parade route.
Here is my Bestie with my baby girl!

The parade was nice, although it started late. The kids ran out to get candy and we watched the horses, the various floats, marching bands, dance groups and MANY fire trucks pass by.

Do you love J's head band?
Miss M fell asleep amongst the commotion.

Here is darling little A, my bestie's little girl. She loved the parade!
J and W had so much fun together!

One of MANY fire trucks!

We saw a lot of horses. Most of them were painted. I have never seen a painted horse before and found it quite odd!

I started taking lots of pictures, but it got hot and I was tackling two kids so I stopped taking pictures.

After the parade, there was a cookout. The kids swam in the little pool and such, but my kids started to get tired and we know how that ends so I packed them up and went home.

It was certainly a fun day for all of us.

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.I am writing my first "NOT ME!" Monday, inspired by cousin Becky.

...I most certainly did NOT let J eat Goldfish crackers for breakfast this week.

...I did NOT let J hula-hoop in the house, only to hit his sister with it.

....I absolutely did NOT let my 6 month old suck on a piece of watermelon. She did NOT then puke all over the carpet in my mother's living room, on my shorts, on her clothing, my mom's china cabinet.

.....and I most certainly did NOT lock the bathroom door so that I could have 3 minutes of peace. This was only after J did NOT barge in twice. He always leaves me alone while using the bathroom.

Fun day with Cousins

I got the opportunity to spend the day with my niece, C last week. She lives in another state but was visiting her other aunts so I got to spend a day with her. I picked her up and we had lunch at my moms. We had fun, eating lunch and looking at mom's dolls. C also got to witness Miss M barfing up all over my mom's carpet....good times! She was so good with M. Very sweet.

Mom has dolls from all over the world. C escaped with 6 of them! :)

Then we headed to my house where C and J played outside. Poor C. J had her running all over the place. Then we headed for Chick-Fil-A to get dinner to take to Aunt Ju-ju's house. The kids had a ball. Uncle Tim carried them up and down the hill in a wheel barrow. Not so safe, but still fun. They played tag and foot ball with the dog. I am so glad we got to spend the day with her.

A day at the beach

We decided to spend July 3rd at a local state park. It is a nice place, with many areas to picnic, lots of playgrounds and a small beach type area. To me, it is not a beach unless the ocean is attached to it! :)
But sand+water = beach to J.

The weather was so beautiful. Perfect- low 80s, low humidity, cool breeze. Perfect. We packed a picnic and headed off. We didn't tell j where we were going unless it was over crowded or dirty as some local "beaches" can be, but it was great!
Miss M was sportin' her bikini again. It may be for the last time, as she was bustin out of the pants! Isn't she sitting up well?
Of course, J and M spend time playing on the towels together, but not for long.
It was water time for him. It was nice because it was shallow enough for him to swim with out floaties!
Then the sand. He loved the sand. He played so nicely with another boy. We weren't quite prepared for this trip and forgot our sand toys but the other boy shared quite nicely!

Miss M went in the water for a short time, but preferred the land, playing and eating her sunglasses. She is is that stage where if she can pick it up, she will put it in her mouth!
J also liked playing with M's sunglasses. Silly boy.
It was a wonderful family day. We cannot wait to go again!
