We are at the beach! My coworker who is wonderful and generous lent us her 30 ft. RV this weekend to stay at the beach. Their RV park is about a mile from the main drag of the beach. It has three pools, a new playground and is fun, fun, fun. The best part is she is charging us NOTHING to use her RV and the stay at the park cost us close to nothing. We went swimming today and it was so fun. Miss M loved the water, as did J. Both kids are tired and asleep as we speak.
I have never stayed in an RV before. It is so cool. I know by the time we go home, I will be ready for my large bathroom, my king sized bed and my full kitchen, but it is amazing how they fit so much stuff into the small space. They have a fire pit and a lovely patio and chairs so we can sit out and drink wine and make s'mores. Not together....that doesn't sound good..... :)
The BEST part of the trip is that I will get to see my cousin and her family. We haven't seen each other in over 6 years, since our boys were like 8 months old. I've never met her little girl and cannot wait to meet her. I never get to see any of my extended family because they all live so far away, so I am more than thrilled to see her/them. We live far away from each other but we do chat via Facebook, email and blogs. can;t wait, can't wait CAN'T WAIT!!!!
We plan to hit the beach sometime this week, however, because of the 90 plus degree forecast, I feel our beach time will be short lived. Oh well, there is always the pool!
Sorry no pictures.......I left the camera card back at home.!

Proud mama!
It is hard to believe that my boy is almost finished Kindergarten. Time flies for sure. We had his end-of-the-year conference last week and his report card was excellent. He is the top reader in his class. He is a role model for others. He is respectful. His teacher said that his writing is out of this world. He was nominated by her to be a guest at the Author's Tea. W got to go and have cake and juice and listen to each child read his writing with a microphone. He was more than excited to be there and we were more than proud. (Of course- I forgot the camera but hubby did get it on video)
So the proudness (I Know- not a word) gets better! Let me preface the story....Last week we had TWO umm....long skinny visitors at our school.....yup....SNAKES!!! J was in the cafeteria eating when one went under his table. Long story short, the Principal asked that kids write a story about the day a snake came to school.
So we sat down and he wrote and illustrated a story about the events of that lunch period. Well, each child that wrote a story was given a journal from the principal. HE was so thrilled. Well, that was this morning. Since 7:30 this morning, he has written 16 "stories" in his journal, all by himself. He has written on all topics--mom, dad, Miss M, his school, his pet fish, tee-ball, summer vacation. And they are all well done. There were only a few words I couldn't figure out.
I am so proud of him. He makes his mama smile!

Hair Cut
Miss M got her first hair cut! Paul wanted to cut bangs but I didn't and I won the battle. We basically just shortened up the back to get rid of the baby mullet. Paul was a joking that we paid $12 for NOTHING! She did really well. I bought a soft pretzel and as long as she was eating, she didn't make a peep! She was really good.
