Weekend Away
My sister and I spent last weekend at the beach with the kids to celebrate J's b-day. I borrowed my friends trailer again and this was the only weekend it was free. So we took it!
We had a total blast! I was unsure of how it would go, since my kids are up early and my sister likes to sleep in but she was a trooper, and as always, a huge help!
We arrived late Friday night so the kids were a bit sleepy!

Of course, the kids were up at the crack of dawn (literally) on Saturday so we got up, ate breakfast and headed out to the beach. It was GORGEOUS!!! 75 degrees, sunny, light breeze, warmish water= PERFECT!! J made a friend and played for hours in the surf!

Miss M was a little hesitant about the water. Every time aunt Ju-Ju tried to put her feet in the water, Miss M did a split in the air! So funny!

I was there too, in case you were wondering. You know how the photographer is never in the pictures....
She finally got brave enough and got wet!

J built a castle with his new friend.
Bathing Beauties!
After a nice nap and shower, we headed to the skate park for J to try out his new skates that he got for his b-day!
Then off to the playground! Run Aunt Ju-JU!
J crossed the monkey bars up and back to the first time!
and all Miss M wanted to do was "WING MOMMY"!!!
we ate a late lunch at our favorite place for ice cream~Dumser's!
Yummy!
Since it was J's birthday, we let him set the agenda for the day. On his list- Mini golf!

Hole in one!

Miss M loved the zebra....

We decided to make J a donut cake for his breakfast and so we went and bought these..and this "donut" was inside. Jules and I nearly wet ourselves laughing!

Soccer Boy
First Day for my First Grader!
J started first grade last week. He was thrilled for many reasons. He is now in the upstairs hallway of the school which houses first through 5Th grades. No more Baby hallway as he calls it! He also gets his own desk. No more tables. Thrilling, I know. He had a great week, despite the fact that most classrooms in the school were between 85 and 92 degrees each day this week. I think he handled the heat better than most of us teachers.
This is J's teacher and one of my best friends. I was worried that it would be weird that she was his teacher this year but both are handling it great.

GO Ravens!
J, Paul and I took a trip to the Raven's game last Saturday. It was certainly an adventure! Interesting people to watch, all sorts of them!
We took the train downtown to avoid parking and paying $25 to do so. we started with an empty train car and ended with a sardine-like car!

J and I had never been to the stadium to see a game. (I toured it once when I taught summer school a few years ago) To see so much Purple Pride in one place is amazing!
We sat WAY up. It was hard to follow the game because you couldn't see who had the ball. I am just getting into watching football on TV and let me tell ya, it is easier to follow when it is on TV! My favorite player, Joe Flacco is down there somewhere!

Here is the marching band. They introduced the new fight song and people went wild! Like I said, the people watching was amazing! (BTW- my pics are a little out of order)

Here is a bad picture of me and the hubs......I had to prove I was there...
A filled stadium, a LOT of purple!

It was a preseason game so most people left after the third quarter and it was OBVIOUS that the Raven were creaming the Giants. :)
As for people watching, I was in heaven. There were rich people who acted too snooty, rich friendly people, trashy people, loud people, SUPER LOUD OBNOXIOUS PEOPLE, kids, parents, and of course, Giants fans. One particular loud-mouth lady was using foul language and someone told her to stop b/c there were kids at the game. She then said that people shouldn't bring kids to football game..... REALLY???? I ALMOST said something but thought I would stay calm. Then there was the trash-talking guy who heckled the 4 drunk Giants fans the WHOLE GAME! The same argument between them, the WHOLE GAME! It got quite comical towards the end and before they left they shook hands (also comical). GOOD people watching...

We stayed to the end, tired and sweaty. ( Another BAD picture of me- just focus on the cute boy)
IT was an experience and I would like to go again....just not too soon. We got home after 1 AM and for anyone who knows me, that is way late for me. It took me a few days to recover from the lost sleep! I look forward to a killer season for the Ravens, which I will enjoy from my living room!
Daredevil a.k.a. Freak out mommy!
My little Miss M has learned a new trick. She can get into her crib. Goodness....look at that face. She is full of the dickens. (Disclaimer- I was sorting through J's old clothes and she wanted to put some on. I don't usually dress her this way. Really. I don't) and I usually don't encourage this behavior for the sake of pictures but, well, it is cute and I wanted it on film......

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I Love Ya????
No not really. Tomorrow I go back to work. It is tough each year, giving up the freedom of having a flexible schedule, doing what I want, when I want. I am dreading the exhaustion that come with being a working at work mom. But I will do it and it will become a routine, like it always does. I haven't posted and pictures in a while so here are some.....

J and his buddy W
W, Miss M and A (love those curls)
