Hard to believe...
my wonderful summer is almost over. We haven't gone on any fancy vacations, gone anywhere special, but I LOVED LOVED LOVED being home with the kids. Of course, I had my days of pure insanity, but I am so sad that I have to go back to work. (Disclaimer- I am ever so thankful for my job) I saw Miss M do so many new things in the past 10 weeks. We were able to do more things as a family and I loved that. I cried yesterday- just lost it thinking of leaving my precious girl on Monday. (J will be going with me every day once school starts so I am not as sad....he and I will have too much together time! ;) ) M and I have really bonded. I know her daily schedule like a book. Now I have to leave her. Paul will now get his bonding time with our girl, which is good. But I am jealous. I know I shouldn't be, but I am. Well, this is reality I guess. I am dreading the hectic life of working and running a house. It was so chaotic last year. Please pray that it will be a bit easier this year for me.
So for the next 3 days, I am soaking in my kids. Gonna play, laugh and give kisses till the sun goes down!

My 8-month old
This past month, Miss M has really grown up right before my eyes.
This month she has
- learned to crawl
- pulled herself to a stand in her crib and in her play yard
- played with new toys that require her to be interactive
- visited with her Grandpa
- learned how to growl
- has learned how to make raspberries as soon as I give her a spoon of food.
- outgrown her swing
She loves her big brother, and certainly has wrapped herself around her daddy's finger!

Baby or Bear???
This is my daughter's new sound. She does it a lot. I had to prompt her in the video a bit. As you can hear in the video, it makes me laugh!
Try to ignore the fact that her face is covered in green beans! Messy girl!

Slow Down Baby Girl!
Miss M has been on the move these past days! The first milestone was the commando crawl- you know, the scooting on her elbows. That has been going on for a week or two.

Then, on Friday, she CRAWLED! Boy are we in trouble! She is all over the place. Poor J. He cannot put anything on the floor or M wants it! She has gone after shoes, markers, paper- anything that I don't want her to have!
So yesterday, we had to lower the crib mattress. You know why? Baby Girl was standing in her crib! I put her in the crib so I could run to the bathroom and came back to a smiling little girl, holding onto the rail! I was gone only a minute so she is fast! It is so exciting to see her make these steps however, I am a little sad that my baby is growing up so quickly! Where did the time go?
In other news, J in is VBS this week, so I will let you know how that goes. He came home last night and was exhausted- good news for us!

Dad's visit
My dad came to visit this past week. We didn't do any terribly spectacular, but had some fun none-the-less.
He was so happy to see Miss M. He hadn't seen her since she was 3 weeks old and to say that she had grown, is an understatement! He and J had their usual tickle battles and pillow fights.
Sunday, we went to a park in a near-by town that is on the water. Such a pretty place!

Yesterday Paul, J, dad and I took the Water taxi around the harbor and visited Fort McHenry. Dad worked there for a time but Paul had never been inside the fort so it was a learning experience! I think J likes the cannons the best! After we toured the fort and the grounds, we took the water taxi to another area of the harbor and ate lunch. By that time, we were all pretty spent, and headed home.

Oh NO! Daddy's in jail! Wonder what he did?
