My sister is a wonderful Aunt. She came over on Sunday and J decided he wanted to play soccer. Well, at 8 months pregnant, I am not really up for a big soccer game but God Bless Aunt Ju-Ju! She was dressed in her high-heeled boots but ran around for a good while playing soccer with J. He had a ball and despite the 3 inches of mud on her boots, I think Julie had a good time too! J is lucky to have her! Notice the boots! It goes to show how different Julie and I are--I couldn't walk in those boots for more than 10 minutes and she can play soccer!

Baby bedding

We finally bought the bedding for our little girl room. Isn't it so pretty? I love how it looks so feminine, but not too baby. Now we just need to get the room painted, the crib put together (Oh what fun!) and the room will be ready.
Other than that, it has been a low key weekend. J atttended a bowling b-day party for his friend yesterday. It was relly fun. THey palyed music and had the disco lights on-kinda like Rock-n-bowl! The kids had more fun dancing than they did bowling!

Things I miss because I'm pregnant
1. Advil- Tylenol does nothing for me.
2. Wine- I am not a drinker, but a glass once in a while would be nice.
3. Pants that button- I am not sure why, but today, I was just longing for non-belly pants.
4. Sleeping on my stomach
5. Sleeping through the night- I know, this will not happen even after baby is here, but at least I won't be going to the bathroom a million times a night!
6. Wearing normal shoes to work. I wear tennis shoes every day because I am on my feet- I know--attractive!
Thing I will miss about being pregnant
1. I never have to lift or carry anything- No helping people move, no mowing the lawn.
2. Feeling baby move in my belly-
3. Elastic pants- I know, I know- I just said that I am sick of them but how often can you get away with wearing elastic jeans and not be pregnant? They do supply an element of comfort!
4. No periods- nuff said!
5. Having a real excuse for being tired.
This has been a long pregnancy and I still have a ways to go. I figure it is the fact that before, I had noone to care for except myself and now, I have J! I cannot complain though, because I have been healthy. Thank the good Lord for that!

love letters and soccer
J is in "love" with a girl in his class. He made this picture for her and took it to school. Isn't it sweet? Notice the heart in the bottom corner that has their two pictures in it. Some girl will be lucky to have him one day!
Here he is in his soccer uniform. I think he looks so grown up. (I still have no clue how to flip pictures on the blog- sorry!) Last week, he did much better with playing as a team and not crying when he didn't get the ball. Finally- when the season is almost over! At least he learned something new and is learning to share, be a team player and is getting exercise. I was wondering if we put him in too early but I think he did well. BTW- when the kids play, it looks like a swarm of bees chasing a ball. Funny enough, his team is called the Stingers! At least it is entertaining!
Yoga boy pics
In an earlier post, I wrote about J doing yoga with me. Well, I got him to pose again for some pictures.
Here he is doing the balancing pose, minus the balancing on one leg part.
They call this one "downward dog." and yes, they expect us preggers to do this. Needless to say, J is the only one home with me as I do this! I look like a fool! he-he
My boy is such a hoot! Besides doing yoga, his new expression is "You MUST be kidding!". He uses it all of the time. This morning I was getting ready for work and I told him that he didn't have school, but I had to go to work to have teacher meetings. His response? "WHAT? You MUST be kidding!" His teacher also said that he says it all of the time at school. Lovely! I don't know where he gets this stuff.

Yoga partner
Sometimes my son makes me chuckle. I was grading papers tonight and J comes into me with my yoga DVD for pregnant ladies. My friend gave it to me to help with a sore back. I have only done it one time but I have enjoyed yoga since I began it last winter. But I digress...... So J says to me, "Mommy, can we do yoga?" Well, there we were, in my living room doing yoga with a tv screen full of pregnant women. Darn I wish I could have gotten some pictures of him. It is hard to concentrate with a 5 year old next to you, in "child's pose". Finally after 15 minutes he said that he would just watch me (quite entertaining) because "it is too many girls doing it." How sweet is my boy to get my butt off the couch and get me stretching! Gotta love him! I will have to remind him in a few years that when he was five, he and pregnant mom did yoga together in the living room!

Back online
It has been forever since I have been online! Our internet has been down or it may be the computer- who knows. Regardless, I haven't been online in forever. Here is the update in our little world.
- My pregnancy is going well. I had a little scare- I failed my one-hour glucose test and had to take the three hour test. Not fun. I had a HORRIBLE tech who took blood from really bad parts of my arms (the inside of my wrists) all while chewing on a Twizzler. My arms look like a drug abusers! Luckily, the test came back fine so I am good.
- We finally got paint for J's room. It is a lighter shade of blue. Now we just need to paint.
- My dad is home and doing well. He is walking several times a day and feeling stronger every day.
-J loves school. He can now write and spell "October" all by himself! Good grief! I have 4th graders who cannot spell October!
- Fall is here, I am cool and happy! (Of course, today was 80 degrees-too hot for pregnant me)
I think that is it!
